ALDO opens at Baystreet!

ALDO Shoes have opened a new outlet in Baystreet Shopping Complex St. Julian's and what better way to celebrate than with a cocktail bar and a crowd of beautiful people enjoying the new collection of on trend shoes, bags, and accessories?!

For this Spring/Summer season, ALDO is proposing a palette of nudes, metallics. graphic prints and embroidery and classic blacks as well as the ubiquitous tan and mustard shades. I always love walking into an ALDO Shoes store as everything is perfectly displayed and I just generally love their collections. I would love to see smaller sizes though as with my small feet I struggle to find shoes that are not too big for me. Having said, I still managed to walk out with a bag and earrings just in time for this year's edition of Malta Fashion Week and Awards!

Head down to ALDO at Baystreet for the latest trends in shoes, bags and accessories for both men and women!

Pleats Please

Spring has sprung! And fashion has taken a cue from mother nature with beautiful floral prints and embroidery blooming all over. The weather is still settling into warmer temperatures but now is the perfect time to start ditching the layers and wear the prettiest of skirts!

Pleated skirts (more specifically the ones with accordion pleats) are literally everywhere this season. I am a big fan of this trend but being petite, I have to admit that I had to search quite a few shops to find a skirt that suits me given that such skirts are mostly available in ankle length variations.

I am pleatsed to say that I have found my dream pleated skirt at Stradivarius from their latest collection. It is this dark green silk number with a sort of oriental style flower print all over them. Them having quite a busy print, I paired them with a light-weight beige blouse which a little lace detailing at the back. However, my favourite part of this outfit is this bag which I got from ALDO. I think it brings the whole look together...don't you agree?

On a side note, I'm really digging how the outfit blended with the garden backdrop of the serene San Anton Gardens in Attard and how cute is that cat who wanted some cuddles while posing for photos? :)

High - Low

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated my Dad's birthday with lunch at one of our favourite restaurants in Marsascala, Sepia. I always take every opportunity to dress up and wear new clothes and accessories I would have bought not long before.
Yesterday was one such day where I wore a new H&M dress and accessories and paired them with my Diane von Furstenberg 440 Gallery Bitsy Cross Body Bag, hence, high-low dressing ;) I love the cut-out at the back of the dress which gives the illusion of a matching crop top and skirt. I also loved wearing two new lip products from Kiko which lasted all throughout lunch without the need of a touch-up, but more on them in another post ;)

Here are some pictures that my other half captured for me :)

June Collective Haul

I know I am a little late...again on the end-of-month haul but I still wanted to show you what I got anyways :) I'll start with fashion related items first, then move on to beauty.

I bought this pair of wedges from Aldo shoes and I have already worn them countless times - they go with so many outfits and are oh so comfy!! I have also found this grey holographic clutch bag on sale and surprisingly, I have worn it quite a few times as well.

I got some tops and a pair of red jeans from Stradivarius during a trip to Valletta. I never seem to be able to leave the store empty handed and some basics never hurt anyone ;) I also got these two cute tops from Dorothy Perkins as I find them very versatile for summer when you need to smarten yourself a little but still keep it comfy :)

I went a little accessory crazy this month with this Dorthy Perkins bucket bag which I am totally in love with, a pair of sunglasses and some bangles and bracelets from Promod as well as more bangles and rings from Born Pretty Store.

Next up are the beauty items, most of which are nail related. I bought backups of the Nivea eye makeup remover and the Lycia makeup remover wipes, both of which I can't be without. I also bought an array of nail embellishments and tools from Born Pretty Store (some of them were actually sent for review purposes). I also bough Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle which totally works and I'm in love with and three Sinful Colors Pinata Blasts from ebay. The shades I got are Mamacita, Fierce Fiesta and Baila Baila.

Lastly, the boyfriend treated me to a new nail drill kit, some Oumaxi acrylic paints and an assortment of nail decorations :)

Event | Pink 10th Anniversary Fashion Show

Last Thursday marked a very important milestone for Malta's leading women's magazine, Pink which is distributed monthly with The Sunday Times of Malta - it is the magazine's tenth birthday and what better way to celebrate than to host a fashion show at the Progress Press printing area which is not usually accessed by the general public?!

Ten brands, namely, ALDO Shoes & Accessories, Armani Jeans, Esprit, F&F, Karen Millen, Liu Jo, M&Co, Marks & Spencer, Miss Selfridge, and Tommy Hilfiger, showcased their collections for the upcoming season.

I really wished for an open cheque to somehow fall from the sky right into my lap that very moment so that I could buy all the outfits and accessories that the models strutted on the catwalk! Well actually, the catwalk was a carpet which featured past Pink Magazine covers and the backdrop was actually pallets and newspaper reels - a very nice and unique touch I must say! Furthermore, some models even had specially printed copies of The Times of Malta, featuring the respective clothing brands' logos.

Hair and makeup added and interesting touch of wow and tough factor to the outfits and they complemented even the dressiest of outfits.

After the fashion show, guests were treated to drinks and finger food courtesy of Catermax and everyone was given some generous goodie bags, thanks to the main sponsors. In fact, the event would not have been possible without the help of Alistair Fenech, CHEMIMART, Dical House Mosta, Diet Kinnie, Lady Million Eau my Gold, Natuzzi, Powwow Station, and Renault.

So, Happy 10th Birthday to Pink Magazine! I really look forward to each and every issue of the magazine as it really is at the forefront of covering the main topics of interest for women!
